Nutrition Made Simple

Date

There is no shortage of information out there when it comes to nutrition.

When I began this journey I quickly became overwhelmed. Should I do keto? Paleo? Is it okay to use a fork?

Seriously… The internet has it all. I get your frustration. Here are 4 simple ways to start incorporating healthier choices when it comes to food.

Making these four changes alone will dramatically boost your health and wellbeing:

  1. Consume minimally processed, unrefined, whole foods that are as close to how they appear in nature. Processed foods are full of synthetic ingredients, stabilizers, and tons of chemicals that very few of us even know what they are. If you cannot pronounce it, don’t eat it. The less ingredients the better. An avocado is a whole food. No ingredients. Just the avocado. ⠀
  2. Eat a diverse range of local, seasonal, organic fruits and vegetables. Aim for at least 3-5 colors on your plate each meal. ⠀
  3. Choose grass-fed and finished meats, pasture-raised poultry and eggs, and wild-caught seafood. How the animal lived, ate, and died matters. Not all meat is created equal and you want to pay close attention when choosing where you source your animal products. Check out your local farmer!⠀
  4. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of clean, filtered water daily. A lot of symptoms can be traced back to dehydration.
