Hi! I’m Ashlee Symcox
and I am a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (or FNTP for short).
I am proud to say that by trade, I am a nurse. In fact, I spent my career as an ER travel nurse since 2009! I have seen first-hand the devastation of chronic illness on peoples’ lives, their life pursuits, and the impact it had on their families. You may be wondering how or why I became an FNTP and it’s because of the same reason you’re visiting my website now.
A little over four years ago, I began experiencing symptoms that no doctor could explain. I went from being a healthy, vibrant nurse working 12-hour shifts, to being bed-bound with a chronic illness almost overnight! It didn’t take long for me to feel overwhelmed with the medical system, overloaded with information, and dismissed.
Although I felt powerless, I decided to take my health into my own hands and began looking into holistic health and nutrition. I was determined to get to the root cause of my illness and felt that western medicine had not been serving me well.
In 2020, I received my FNTP certification from The Nutritional Therapy Association. In a way, I am grateful to have experienced my debilitating journey because it’s created a passion that allows me to help you overcome health adversities and thrive too!
I believe that there is more to truly healing from chronic illness than just bandaging symptoms and hoping for the best. If this is you too, then you’re at the right place. Let’s get to know one another.
