Meet Ashlee

Hi! I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2009 as a registered nurse. I spent 10 years working in busy Emergency Departments all over the country as a travel nurse. I saw first hand the devastation of chronic illness on peoples’ lives, families, and life pursuits. I knew deep down that there had to be more to truly healing from chronic illness than treating symptoms and just hoping for the best.

It wasn’t until the Fall of 2017 that my journey into nutritional wellness began. I went from being a healthy, thriving nurse working 12-hour shifts to being bed bound with chronic illness in what seemed like overnight. I was mysteriously ill at first but through working with the right practitioners it turned out that I had a bad reaction to a medication leading to HPA axis dysfunction and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I also navigated Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, Heart Arrhythmias, and Anemia. When I felt powerless in my situation, I found great strength in knowing that I could choose what I ate. I was committed to getting to the root cause of why me and so many others deal with chronic illnesses. I spent a lot of time reading, researching, and taking classes to learn all that I could to heal. I had faith that nutrition and the right supplementation could improve my situation. Well, it not only improved my situation but has been the catalyst to me getting my life back. In the Fall of 2019, I enrolled in the Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Program through the Nutritional Therapy Association to learn how to help others through the journey of truly healing so they can thrive too. I graduated from the Nutritional Therapy Association in June of 2020 as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner.

I am married to my husband, John. We live in Edmond, Oklahoma and have 3 cats (yes, that’s a lot… I know) Mr. Bojangles, Polly, and G-cat. We love to spend our time with family, traveling, and hiking.
