I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I spent 10 years working in busy Emergency Departments all over the country as a travel nurse. I saw first hand the devastation of chronic illness on peoples’ lives, families, and life pursuits. I knew deep down that there had to be more to truly healing from chronic illness than treating symptoms and just hoping for the best.
It wasn’t until the Fall of 2017 that my journey into nutritional wellness began. I went from being a healthy, thriving nurse working 12-hour shifts to being bed bound with chronic illness in what seemed like overnight.
I experienced Protracted Withdrawl Syndrome from getting off of an antidepressant. This lead to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (Limbic System Injury), Dysautonomia, HPA Axis Dysfunction, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), HeartArrhythmias, Perimenopause, and Anemia.
When I felt powerless in my situation, I found great strength in knowing that I can choose what I eat, that there is power in nutrient-dense foods that work FOR my body, not against it and I could shift my mindset and truly heal my life. It’s been a journey, but I’m healing and am much better today! I have my life back and am incredibly thankful to God for ultimately healing me!
I became committed to getting to the root cause of WHY we get chronically ill and/or suffer health adversities and finding solutions so I can help others.
In May of 2020, I graduated from The Nutritional Therapy Association as a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to help others through their journey of truly healing so that they can overcome adversity and thrive too. I am passionate about what I do today because I believe the best way to combat chronic illness is to equip others to take charge of their own health! This is how I help people heal!
I am married to my husband, John. We live in Edmond, Oklahoma and have 3 cats (yes, that’s a lot… I know) Mr. Bojangles, Polly, and G-cat. We love to spend our time with family, traveling, and hiking.
